Actress and singer Jennifer López is convinced that the statement used, presumably in a joking tone, by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe when referring to Puerto Rico as an “island of floating garbage,” offended all Latinos residing in the United States.

Last Sunday, during a campaign event designed to promote the image of Donald Trump, at Madison Square Garden, Hinchcliffe, who is also known as Kill Tony, appeared on stage and, abusing black humor, ranted against Puerto Rico perhaps without imagining the repercussion that his words would have.

“I don’t know if you know this, but there is a floating island of garbage right there in the middle of the ocean, I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” he said.

The words issued by the comedian from Ohio almost immediately earned him multiple signs of rejection on social networks and, forced by circumstances, he tried to qualify his off-color comment.

“I love Puerto Rico and vacationing there. I made fun of everyone… These people have no sense of humor,” the 40-year-old comedian wrote on platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Tony Hinchcliffe’s attempted justification only put him back under the gaze of his detractors, including Jennifer Lopez.

During his participation in a campaign rally for Kamala Harris held in Las Vegas, Nevada, The entertainment celebrity expressed that the Ohio comedian’s offending comment offended the entire Latin community present in the American Union.

“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who felt offended that day. It was all the Latinos in this country. “It was humanity and any person of decent character,” he said.

Meanwhile, during an interview with the television network ABCDonald Trump distanced himself from the statement issued by Tony Hinchcliffe.

“I don’t know him; someone put it there. I don’t know who he is,” he emphasized.

Despite the position taken by the 78-year-old Republican, during the week other well-known Puerto Ricans turned their backs on him and invited the rest of the country not to support him with their vote.
