Thanks to the intelligence work of the Mexican authorities, it was possible to capture Zhi Dong Zhanga citizen originally from China who had an arrest warrant for drug trafficking and money laundering issued by authorities in Atlanta, Georgia, in addition to the crime of criminal association.

Zhi Dong was arrested in Lomas de Santa Fe, in Mexico City, at the diplomatic request of the US government.

He is linked to criminal groups such as Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), operating mainly in the United States, Central America, South America, Europe, China and Japan.

He hid under different aliases, such as “Li Gong Sun Chang”, “Ku Li Hernández”, Brother Wang”, “BW”, “Pancho”, “Heh”, “Chino” and “Summor Ownor”.

Zhi Dong is accused of being allegedly responsible for the export, transportation and distribution of more than a thousand kilograms of cocaine, 1,800 kg of fentanyl and more than 600 kg of methamphetamines, as well as obtaining more than 150 million dollars annually in profits from the sale of these drugs.

Zhi Dong was one of the most important international money laundering operators and was a link for fentanyl trafficking from China to South American, European and American cartels, according to the newspaper Milenio.

The capture of Zhi Dong is a great achievement in the fight against drug trafficking, according to the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of the Federal Government, Omar García Harfuchwho in social networks assured that with this arrest “millions of doses of drugs are prevented from reaching the streets and financial resources for criminal structures.”
