Shakira revealed what she thought of Maluma when she met him: “I felt a great connection”

Shakira confessed that she admires many of her fellow musicians, such as Karol G or Maluma, with whom she has collaborated on songs. Recently, The Colombian singer told how she met the “Cuatro babys” singer.

In a recent interview with GQ Spain, The Colombian singer shared some anecdotes about nine songs that have been key in her careeramong which was “Chantaje”, his first collaboration with Maluma.

“’Chantaje’ is one of my favorite collaborations,” Shakira confessed. “It was a time when Maluma was starting his musical career”he added about the song they released in 2016.

The “Loba” singer said that when she heard “Borro Cassette”, one of the songs that catapulted Maluma’s career, she liked it a lot.so when the possibility of working together arose he did not hesitate.

Shakira assured that everything flowed naturally. “Not even thirty minutes had passed and we were already working on the song. Afterwards, we all know what followed: we recorded the video in Barcelona,” he said.

The artist confessed that from the first moment she saw Maluma there was a great connection between both. “With Maluma I felt a great connection both intellectually and in composition,” he said.

“He is an exceptional professional, works efficiently and is truly talented. I was impressed, thinking, ‘Where did this guy come from?’ “It is extraordinary,” he added.

A good musical year for Shakira

Spotify Colombia shared a publication with several important data about how Shakira’s new music has fared this yearas well as the places where it is most popular.

The audio platform published the cities in which the Colombian singer has the most fans and these are CDMX, Santiago, Bogotá, Lima and Buenos Aires.

Spotify also shared that the new album Shakira Women no longer crypublished in March, was listened to more than 4.1 million times this year.

Likewise, the songs from the album that ranked at the top of Spotify abroad were “Nassau”, “How, Where and When”, “La Fuerte”, “Última”, “Cohete” and “Puntería”.

Shakira’s streams are also up 43% this year.
