The optimism is over Sergio Perez in it Mexican Grand Prix. After be eliminated in the first round of the qualification test, He acknowledged that this Sunday he will have a difficult race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, in which it will not be easy to get the best places.

‘Czech’, who will leave the grid in position number 18said in a press conference that he will work hard to finish at least among the first 10 places, which are the only ones that award points for the World Cup.

“It will be difficult to score points in Mexico and if tomorrow I can finish among the top 10 it will be a good performance“said the pilot from Guadalajara.

Regarding his participation in the classification, he regretted having finished in eighteenth place and again blamed his car.

“We couldn’t get out of this very negative car cycle. It is the day that I wanted to do it best and we are very upset, it is very frustrating not having a car that we cannot show it and this is how it is”he explained.

Finally, regarding the problems he had to face on board his vehicle, the man from Guadalajara explained that it took him a lot of work to measure the brakes to be able to attack and take the curves.

“The main problems I have had all weekend have been that I can’t stop the car. I can’t brake it in slow corners.I have to modulate the brake a lot because when I try to attack, I start blocking. That has been the main problem,” he explained.

This is not the first time that Pérez has complained about not having a good car this season, as he has repeatedly emphasized that His teammate, Max Verstappen, has more improvements in his car than his.

‘Checo’ currently occupies eighth place in the Drivers’ Championship for the 2024 season. With five races still to be played, the Mexican looks very far from what he did last year, when he finished as runner-up in Formula 1.

As if that were not enough, the Mexican is immersed in a negative streak, in which he has not been on the podium for 14 races.
