Things don’t seem to look too good for the Mexico national team defender Julian Araujo behind Bournemouth by playing only 30 minutes this Saturday in the 1-1 draw with the Aston Villa, where the local team took away two points thanks to Evanilson’s score in the 97th minute.

Araujo was part of the starting eleven, but a yellow card and then his little participation ended up not convincing Andoni Iraola, who ended up relieving him after 30 minutes of action and sent defender Adam Smith in his place.

The movement was perhaps due to a tactical issue, but it will also have been due to the fact that the strategist tried to prevent his squad from being left with one less man due to the Mexican’s warning in the most critical moments of the match.

In the rest of the actions, the Aston Villa did everything to win until the Brazilian striker appeared at the first post in a foul from the side and scored a valuable goal that snatched the victory from the so-called “Villains” with the score of Ross Barkley and established the distribution of points that took away the smile of the face.

The truth is that the visiting team had everything to score, but goalkeeper Mark Travers made a great game which practically took away three goals scored against the visitors. The Irish goalkeeper was the best of the match by making four saves.

The first to André Onana in a tactical play, the second to Konsa in a shot inside the area, the third to Pau Torres in a head-on shot and the fourth and last to Ollie Watkins, in a point-blank header.

These saves maintained the 0-0until Barkley broke the tie and kept the visitors in the game throughout the 90s until the actions were already dying and the big play came to take two points away from the powerful Birmingham team.

Fifteen minutes to go, and after another very clear chance for Jhon Duránwho did not hit the ball in an unbeatable position, Barkley managed to take a shot in a tangled play and make what seemed like the final 1-0.

With the tie, Aston Villa was third in the table with 18 points, five behind the leader, Manchester City, while Bournemouth is tenth, with twelve points in activity 9 of the 2024 Premier League tournament.
