Puebla surprises and stops Chivas' march 1-0

When it was expected that Chivas del Guadalajara gave another blow of authority to replicate their good moment that would allow them to get closer to the direct league zone, they were surprised by an unrecognizable Puebla to end up losing 1-0 on their visit to the Cuauhtémoc stadium.

A result that undoubtedly generates resentment and it makes one doubt whether the red and white team led by Mexican coach Arturo Ortega is really ready for the great undertaking of fighting for the title, since after the victories it added over Pachuca and Necaxa, it was thought that given the weakness of Puebla they would add three safe points.

But they say that one proposes and God disposes And so the team from Guadalajara saw how the thirteen points advantage with which they entered the game on the Puebla field disappeared like night to give the victory to former Chivas coach José Manuel de la Torre and thus leave behind a streak of six consecutive defeats that They had the Guadalajara coach on the scaffold who, as a player and as a coach, built a legend in the “Sacred Flock.”

But for the wedge to tighten it must be of the same suit. and that’s how Chepo’s squad put the weight on Guadalajara and with a goal from Uruguayan Emiliano Gómez in the 63rd minute, they ruined the plans of the Guadalajara team to leave the play in area and watch the direct league more closely.

The details

Unlike the two previous games that Chivas used the accompaniment and the offensive relays to arrive more directly to hurt the rival, now they abused the centers to the area to pressure the goal of goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez, their attack being very predictable and making the work of the people from Puebla easier.

For that reason there were few truly dangerous arrivals, However, starting with Cade Cowell, Ricardo Marín and Yael Padilla in the attack, especially because behind them, neither Fernando “Nene” Beltrán and much less Fernando “Oso” González were the generators of arrivals so that their teammates could step into the area with danger.

While Puebla with arrivals of Gómez himself as Federico Waller Supported by the Colombian Luis Quiñones and the Brazilian Gustavo Ferrareis, they sought to surprise with offensive attacks that almost failed, but that goalkeeper Raúl Rangel knew how to contain.

The way Chivas attacked increased the absence of Roberto “Piojo” Alvaradoto the extent that they removed the screw that generated good football from Guadalajara and now they resorted to hitting the ball.

The same story in the second half

For the complementary part, Chivas did not modify its tactical scheme as in the other two games and they continued with those crosses to the pot that did nothing for them and, on the contrary, after Puebla achieved the 1-0 in the 63rd minute through Emiliano Gómez, they increased the production of crosses that were a piece of cake for the goalkeeper of the people of Puebla and for their defense.

In this way the Guadalajara saw how all its attempts were lost in that foolishness of style that made them see once again as that team without power and offensive resources to record this painful setback, while Puebla gave the house a number with a victory that looks like the type of opponent.
