This week it was learned that eight years after the body of a woman was found in a green area of a motel in Hialeah, Florida, completely naked and covered in blood, uA Miami-Dade jury recommended that the killer also die.

Last week, those same Jurors found Ronald López Andrade guilty of raping and then killing 30-year-old Yaimi Guevara Machado.

Late Wednesday night, even though not all jurors found the crime heinous or cruel, in a vote of 8 to 4 they still recommended death as a possible punishment.

Jurors also found that first-degree murder was committed while the defendant was involved in the commission of the sexual assault.

According to the arrest report, Machado was at the Chesapeake Motel at 935 W. Okeechobee Road with a friend when she was accidentally left outside her room without being fully dressed.

López Andrade had arrived at the motel lobby around 4:30 a.m. and bought four beers and cigarettes. He harassed a cleaning lady and the employee and asked staff if there were prostitutes, the report said.

López Andrade then met Machado, who was wearing only a bra and jeans, and left him his T-shirt. But When Machado refused López Andrade’s advances, he became angry and they began to struggle.according to the report.

Prosecutors say López Andrade raped her and then He strangled her to death.

Machado’s body was found in a grassy area on the motel property, completely naked.

The tragic death shook the South Florida family and the Hialeah motel was ordered to pay the woman’s parents $12 million due to its staff’s negligence in trying to prevent her death.

The lawsuit alleged that staff sold alcohol to López Andrade, attempted to help him find a prostitute, and allowed López Andrade to remain on motel property even though he was not a guest.

The family also alleged that staff did not kick Lopez Andrade off the property after he sought sexual favors from a housekeeper.

Regarding the criminal trial, López Andrade will have another hearing later this year where the judge will have the final say on the sentence.

This is the second time this year that a Miami-Dade jury has recommended the death penalty. In a vote of 8 to 4, jurors recommended the death penalty for Ysrael Granda, a man who was convicted of ordering the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. Granda is awaiting sentencing.
