The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Mexico accused the federal judge Alejandro Alberto Díaz Cruz of ignoring 78 pieces of evidence to issue an arrest warrant against Joaquín Guzmán Lópezson of a drug dealer Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

The FGR detailed in a statement that the judge’s refusal was based on the alleged lack of evidence related to the case, despite the fact that the Public Ministry had presented solid elements that linked Guzmán López to the crimes of kidnapping and treason.

The request for an arrest warrant against one of the heads of Los Chapitoscriminal cell of the Sinaloa Cartelwas formulated on October 5, according to the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office.

“The judge himself avoided informing that the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) provided him with 78 pieces of evidence that established illegal acts (kidnapping and treason), as well as the probability that Joaquín ‘N’ had committed them,” the FGR pointed out.

The Prosecutor’s Office reproached that The evidence was more than enough to issue an arrest warrant. against said individual, and that should have been considered and evaluated by the judge.

The Public Ministry also clarified that it presented the requests for arrest warrants against Guzmán López, addressed to the courts of the penitentiary centers, as the same judge previously demanded.

Likewise, he specified that the FGR never linked Guzmán López with the murder of Mexican politician Héctor Cuénwhose blood evidence was not decisive for the charges of kidnapping and treason against Guzmán López.

“As it is already public and well-known, the blood evidence has already been examined and fully identified and will constitute evidence in the case of the homicide of said person,” he said in the note.

The Mexican Prosecutor’s Office also reported that it decided to withdraw its request after a hearing lasting more than eight hours; although he did not refuse to abandon the case.

Guzmán López is accused of presenting to the US authorities without his consent Ismael “El Mayo” Zambadaco-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, after kidnapping him on a farm located in the northern state of Sinaloa, under deception to attend a meeting, in which the academic Cuén, also an academic, was presumed murdered.

Now both face criminal proceedings in US courts, while Mexican authorities demand that the United States provide information about the capture of both drug lords, which has generated a wave of violence in the northwest of the country.
