Cougars finally managed to enter the positions that grant a direct pass to the Liguilla in Mexican soccer, this after beating the San Luis Athletic at the University Olympic Stadium in a duel in which the figure was Cesar Huerta.

In the match corresponding to matchday 12 and with 5 still to be played, The Pumas played their fourth game without defeat and beat the rojiblancos with a resounding 3-0with a double from “Chino” and a goal from “Memote” Martínez.

Atlético San Luis gave the first warning in the match, at 25′, when Yan Philipe Oliveira polished the goal post defended by Julio González after Franck Boli’s attempt with a filtered pass from Salles-Lamonge. González brought Boli down, but left the ball alive and it almost cost him dearly on the scoreboard.

However, they say that he who forgives loses and it seems that was the case, because three minutes later Pumas gave the first warning and even, shortly after, caused an own goal that was disallowed due to offside.

The first goal fell in stoppage time of the first half, when Huerta shot a cross from Robert Ergas in front of the goal from two meters away and practically without a goalkeeper,

In the second half the pace of the game did not change and Pumas continued to score, increasing their lead in the 54th minute with a double from “Chino”, who scored his new goal with a header after another great center from Ergas.

Finally, the 3-0 win was sealed by Guillermo Martínez, when he finished off a cross from Robert Ergas with his right foot, who added his third assist against a depleted San Luis defense, which by that time already looked even complacent in its attempt to look to shorten the marker.

This resounding victory is pure oxygen for the university studentssince they were positioned in the direct Liguilla positions in the face of a very complicated week, with a double day and in which They will face very tough rivals, first to Rayados in Montereythen they will receive Blue Cross at home and they will close against Chivas in Jalisco.

Pumas currently has 23 points, two less than Toluca, who occupies second place overall, only below Cruz Azul, the leader of the competition with 31 units.
