Donald Trump called Democratic Representatives Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi “enemies within”as the former president’s Republican allies try to argue that his past comments labeling his political opponents as such are being misinterpreted.
“They are bad people. We have many bad people. But when you look at ‘Shifty Schiff’ and some of the others, yes, to me they are the enemy within,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
Trump was questioned on the ‘Media Buzz’ program for his recent comments in which he accused Americans who will not vote for him as “domestic enemies.”
“I think that’s accurate. “They are bad people,” the Republican reaffirmed before saying that Schiff is “a corrupt politician.”
The former governor referred to the Democratic congressman’s accusations about the emails exchanged by his son, Donald Trump Jr., with a Russian lawyer from whom he hoped to obtain information to affect then-candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 elections.
“I wanted to put my son in jail (…). That is an internal enemy. “That is a threat to democracy,” he repeated.
Trump also charged against the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, whom he again accused of not having protected the Capitol during the assault on January 6, 2021.

For its part, the campaign team of the vice president and Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, indicated that “Trump cannot help but show himself as the deranged, angry and unstable man that he is.”
