The artist confessed that he was away from the media because he was focused on his family and “on being happy.” He also talked about the old rivalry he had with Maluma, until he understood that it is really better when you work as a team.
He stated that his foundation is working on issues of child trafficking, because, for him, children are worth a lot.
“They told me it was dangerous, but we all have to take care of the children”he said in his speech.
Before the award ceremony, Balvin sang ‘Cosa de locos’, a song that evokes the artist he was and will be. A song loaded with reggaeton and a touch of merengue. A tropical piece that talks about the roots of his music: joy, love and dance.
The career of Alejandro Sanz
Billboard recognized Alejandro Sanz’s 30 years of career. The award was presented by Ana Mena, in her words she is the singer who put Spanish music on the Latin map.
In his speech, Sanz thanked and also remembered how difficult it was to make music in Spanish in the past. “Now it is very easy and that must be celebrated.” The artist took the opportunity to announce that, shortly, he will announce his next song, although he did not specify a time.
Songs like ‘Amiga mia’ and ‘Corazón Partío’, They make Sanz one of the most awarded composers of music in Spanish.
Pepe Aguilar’s dedication to his daughter
The ‘Billboard Hall of Fame Award’ went to Pepe Aguilar. They recognized his career in a video and celebrated his legacy.
Aguilar took advantage of the stage to leave a message of love for his daughter, Ángela. He sang ‘Take care of her well’. In the song, she expresses her pain upon knowing that her little girl left home and gives her husband a message: “She’s not perfect, but she knows how to love.”
The musical piece was released after Aguilar’s marriage to Christian Nodal. The Mexican performed the song with feeling and, without a doubt, it will be a moment that will be remembered for a long time.
