Iker Fimbres thought hours before the 139th edition of the royal classic vs.Tigers that it would be another normal game and that he would come in as a substitute, but suddenly he appeared as a starter due to the injury of Argentine Jorge Rodríguez and out of nowhere he took the cape to become the hero of a spectacular victory for the Monterrey 4-2.

That’s right, in a story for Ripley, This young man is 19 years old and with just 231 minutes in the Liga MX Thanks to the minor rule, he was able to experience what it means to score a double and write his name in gold letters in the 50th victory of this rivalry that completed the 139th confrontation in its history.

Definitely Fimbres was the spearhead of a Monterrey team led by the Argentine Martín Demichelis with his goals, since the first of them opened the scoring in the 5th minute of action by defining a play in the area and the fourth to seal the victory of the Rayados with a spectacular goal from outside the area in the minute 65.

The rookie’s performance encouraged his teammates so that the Spaniard Sergio Canales will score another goal in the 26th minute almost Olympic who defeated the agonizing attempt by Tigres’ Argentine goalkeeper, Nahuel Guzmán, without being able to prevent the ball from clearing him to get into the enemy nets.

And then the 3-0 with the penalty scored by the Argentine Lucas Ocampo who put the Tigers in intensive care starting in the 35th minute and forcing the cats to generate a furious reaction before concluding the first half with Guido Pizarro’s goals in the 44th minute, closing the tie at the far post.

And a minute later, Frenchman André Pierre-Gignac came within one goal before going to the break to the university squad led by Serbian Veljko Paunovic with a not so uncomfortable 3-2 and thinking about a spectacular comeback.

Rayados put out the feline rebellion

For the second half Tigres went to the front in a reaction according to the circumstances and thinking that Monterrey would be panicked by the two goals before closing the first half, but it was when coach Demichelis moved his pieces and knew how to withstand the pressure to head towards the 50th victory of this rivalry.

It was then that Iker Fimbres appeared with his second goal of the nightin a real great goal, with a shot from outside the area with an impressive personality and who showed that he can have the guts for great things to increase the lead 4-2 before the madness of the Rayados fans gathered at the BBVA stadium.

Monterrey could even have the fifth goal, but his attempt by the Mexican-American Brandon Vázquez failed in an incredible way, although an offside saved him from the shame of his shot, where it was more difficult to miss than to score it, to leave things already sealed with the 4-2

Tigres did not give up and continued to go forward, But in a shot by Gignac, his own teammate Juan Pablo Vigón crossed the path of the ball and prevented the score from scoring for the feline disappointment.
