In the mexican team There is no doubt in the naturalization of footballers before the lack of parts for a generational replacement. Germán Berterame was the last one who made the decision to represent El Tri. Álvaro Fidalgo could be the next and Sergio Canales supported this possibility.

The Rayados de Monterrey footballer acknowledged that Since he arrived in Liga MX he was able to appreciate Fidalgo’s level. The Águilas del América midfielder was described as a good player by his compatriot.

“He is a very good player. I don’t know, I mean, in the end everyone has their circumstances, they have their experiences. It is a very different career than the one I have had. It’s true that in the end he seems like a very good player to me since I met him here and a very good guy.“Canalés said for TUDN.

The Mexican Football Federation is not afraid of the naturalization of players. In this sense, Sergio Canales considers that Álvaro Fidalgo could be a good reinforcement for the Aztec team. Canales also acknowledged that his compatriot feels very comfortable in Mexico.

“I think obviously he has a very very good level to give a lot to Mexico as well and to contribute. He has been here for many years and the truth is that he feels delighted to be here again,” he added.

Nationality aside

Although it is a constant practice in the Mexican team, Some people criticize the inclusion of foreigners in El Tri. Sergio Canales believes that the most important thing about naturalizing a player is that he gives everything on the field, beyond feeling a certain affinity to a country or knowing the national symbols.

“He has been treated very well. After I think he is a player who in the end is going to give everything and the end is the most important thing, right? “May you defend the shirt giving your all”he concluded.

Álvaro Fidalgo arrived in Liga MX in 2021. Since then, the Spanish footballer has become one of the star players of Club América. With the cream-blue shirt, Fidalgo has played 169 games. During that number of meetings he has been able scoring 11 goals, granting 24 assists and giving stability to the American midfield.
