Vice President Kamala Harris will tour Wisconsin to reach voters

The vice president Kamala Harris will visit Wisconsin Thursday for the sixth time since he began his campaign, less than three weeks before Election Day. Harris’ previous visit was earlier this month, when she held a campaign event in Ripon with former Congresswoman Liz Cheney.

Harris will stop in Milwaukee, La Crosse and Green Bay throughout the day, working to reach voters across the state.

After the stop on campus, Vice President Harris will head to La Crosse, where she will continue to interact with students at a rally at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she will be presented by Cisco García, a student at that university.

Harris will close his trip to Wisconsin with a rally in Green Bay, in the shadow of Lambeau Field, along with Wisconsin’s top leaders. In Green Bay, the vice president will be introduced by Jim Ridderbush, a Green Bay resident and vice president of United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1473.

Thursday’s events in Milwaukee, La Crosse and Green Bay follow a flurry of campaign activity by Harris and Walz in that state, including crossing the threshold of over a million doors knocked across Wisconsin to encourage voters to participate in elections.

As Vice President Harris travels to Green Bay, surrounding Brown, Outagamie and Winnebago counties, represent a key opportunitybecause Trump’s extreme policies and dangerous rhetoric have turned voters toward Democrats in recent elections.

On Monday, Governor Tim Walz campaigned in Green Bay and Eau Claire, speaking to students at the University of Wisconsin on his fifth visit to the state since joining the Democratic ticket. First lady Jill Biden also visited Wisconsin on Monday in an effort to get people to vote.

Meanwhile, Trump has no upcoming events in Wisconsin on his agenda. Instead, it will focus on the key states of Georgia and Pennsylvania, plus rallies in Chicago and Detroit.

Harris leads Trump by a narrow 0.6 points in the stateaccording to the Five Thirty Eight poll average, which shows Harris with 48.1% voting intention and Trump with 47.5%.

Voter turnout in Wisconsin could be high in November as there are several competitive House races in the state on the ballot and Republicans are in a tight race to maintain majority control of the state AssemblyAnthony Chergosky, associate professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, told WUWM public radio in Milwaukee.

Biden won Wisconsin by less than one point in the 2020 electionflipping the state after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton there in 2016 and former President Barack Obama won the state by decisive margins in both 2008 and 2012.
