Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife Firerose shared her thoughts on how “stormy” the end of their marriage was. In a recent interview with Stellar, the artist, whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, revealed what she wishes she had done differently during their relationship.
Firerose, 36, reflected on her initial meeting with Cyrus, which occurred more than a decade ago, and stated:
“When I think about what I just went through, I would have told my 22-year-old self to run in the opposite direction and never look back.”
This statement highlights his regret regarding the decisions he made in his love life, especially in relation to her ex-husband.
The Australian artist recalled that she met Cyrus in 2010, when I was leaving an audition in Hollywood. Despite not being a big fan, her meeting with the singer marked the beginning of a complex relationship. Firerose remembers having doubts from the beginningmentioning that his gut told him he should set clearer boundaries.
The relationship between Firose and Miley’s dad
Firerose and Cyrus’ relationship turned romantic during the COVID-19 pandemicand they married in October 2022. However, The happiness was short-lived, as in May 2023, Cyrus filed for divorce after just seven months of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct.”
The accusations between the two were quick and harsh. Cyrus alleged that Firerose had charged $96,000 on her credit card and requested a temporary restraining order. For its part, Firerose filed a countersuit, describing Cyrus’ behavior as “unpredictable and volatile,” and suggesting that he had suffered verbal and emotional abuse.
In a previous statement, Firerose expressed that Cyrus’ divorce filing took her by surprise. She revealed that she was forced to leave her home the same day I was scheduled to have a double mastectomy. “Billy had very strict rules”she said, describing an isolating environment that hindered her ability to leave the relationship.
The divorce was finalized on August 5, 2023. In the final agreement, Firerose did not receive financial compensation, although Cyrus had to give up his rights to the credits and royalties of the songs they had created together.
