R&B singer R.Kelly is once again involved in controversy, since His daughter Buku Abi accuses him of alleged sexual abuse, which would have been committed when she was 8 or 9 years old.
Abi (whose real name is Joan Kelly) was interviewed for the documentary “R. “Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey”from the platform streaming TVEI, and gave details about the relationship he had with his father, who He is serving a 30-year prison sentence for various crimes of a sexual nature.

“He was my everything,” Abi said. “For a long time I didn’t even want to believe this happened. I didn’t know that even if he was a bad person, he would do something to me. I was too scared to tell anyone, too scared to tell my mom…I just remember waking up and him touching me. And I didn’t know what to do, so I just lay there and pretended I was asleep. From that moment on I was a different person.”
Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjeanhe told the magazine People that The artist denies his daughter’s accusationsand that her mother, Drea Kellymade the same accusation years ago. He added that the documentary’s producers “did not approach Mr. Kelly or his team to even allow him to deny these hurtful claims.”
Buku Abi argues that she informed Drea about the alleged abuse in 2009, but by then the legal deadline for reporting had expired. “They couldn’t prosecute my father because I waited too long. So, at that point in my life, I felt like I had said something for nothing.” The 26-year-old girl had already spoken against her father in the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly”2019.
