“Men with Harris” targets Latinos in key states

The campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz launches the “Men with Harris” strategy today“, in order to speak directly to Latinos in key states.

“Latinos are organizers at their core and the Harris-Walz team will take advantage of this tour to reach these voters where they are,” the campaign announced.

To do this, it will incorporate “trusted messengers” that includes a first event in Arizona with Governor Tim Walz, Congressman Rubén Gallego and actor Jaime Camil.

The strategy will focus on cities in three key states: Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma and Nogales, in Arizona; Sparks, Reno and Las Vegas, in Nevada, as well as Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley, in Pennsylvania.

Famous people will join the events, such as Aaron Domínguez, Guillermo Díaz, Nick Gonzales and Al Madrigal, it was indicated.

In addition to specific events, the Harris-Walz campaign will intensify strategies at Latino-owned small businesses, sports bars, barbecue parties, union centers and other community venues.

“The travel campaign will focus on meeting Latino men where they are in settings to discuss the issues that matter most to them and mobilizing them to reach out to other Latino men, encouraging them to vote for Kamala Harris,” the campaign specified. “During these events, attendees will discuss the issues that matter most to Latino communities: healthcare, lower costs and an opportunity economy where everyone can succeed.”

Latino men support Harris less

Different surveys, including those carried out by the My Code Intelligence Center for La Opinión, reveal that Latino men over 35 support Kamala Harris less than women.

In the September poll, 53% of men supported Harris versus 45% backed Trump.

Latinos are, in fact, the ethnic or racial group of voters that most supports Trump, since among AANHPI 40% express that support and among blacks the percentage drops to 24%.

The Harris-Walz campaign implements this comprehensive strategy in the final stretch of this campaign through print, paid media, and on-the-ground organizing efforts.

The plan includes presentations in mass media, such as television, since on Thursday, October 10, Vice President Harris will participate in a meeting with voters on Univision in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, this Wednesday, Governor Walz will participate in an interview on Telemundo Arizona.

“As part of the tour, Latino leaders will focus intensely on engaging local Hispanic media,” he said.

Last month, Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez, along with Senator Ben Ray Luján and Congressman Adriano Espaillat attended the boxing match between world champion Canelo Álvarez and Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas, as part of a campaign event.

“During Mexican Independence Day weekend, the campaign hosted voter contact events at churches, Mexican Independence Day celebration events, sporting events and more in each battleground state throughout the month.” , indicated the campaign.

The strategy is also part of Hispanic Heritage Month with investments of $3 million dollars allocated to radio.
