The Los Angeles Dodgers fell 10-2 to the San Diego Padres in a Game 2 of the Division Series that had everything. The mood between the two teams was tense and even involved the fans.

The bats of Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jackson Merrill shined for the Padres, in addition to the good work of Yu Darvish on the mound. For the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts couldn’t do any damage against solid opposing pitching.

The game started out similar to the first in the series. Jack Flaherty received a home run from Fernando Tatis Jr. in the first inning that opened the score.

The tension between Dodger Stadium and the Padres began in the first inning, after Jurickson Profar robbed Betts of a home run and mocked the fans in left field.

Venezuelan David Peralta extended it to 3-0 with another two-run homer in the second inning. Flaherty found dominance in the following innings, but the damage was done.

The Dodgers’ first score came via Gavin Lux’s sacrifice fly. Although it would fall short in the third episode.

Tension grows between Dodgers and Padres

In the sixth episode, Jack Flaherty hit Fernando Tatis Jr., causing Manny Machado and Flaherty to exchange several insults.

An inning later, Profar tried to give a ball to the fan in left field, but this caused him to throw it back and some even threw plastic bottles towards the outfield. This caused a slight delay in the game.

The Padres were able to take advantage of the boos and sank the Dodgers’ pitching in the eighth and ninth innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. took it out again and Jackson Merrill disappeared it into right field.

Kyle Higashioka and Xander Bogaerts joined the party as San Diego finished with 6 home runs. The Dodgers had never allowed 6 or more home runs in a postseason game.

Max Muncy hit a solo home run in the ninth inning that only made the score 10-2. Everything is open for Game 3 of the Division Series which will be this Tuesday.

Walker Buehler will pitch for the Dodgers, while Michael King is expected to pitch for San Diego.
