CNN en Español and the City University of New York present an event on the impact of the Latino vote in the United States

CNN in Spanish and the Center for Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies of the City University of New York (CUNY) come together to present an event on the importance of the Latino vote in the upcoming United States presidential elections, the Wednesday, October 9 at 6:30 pm ET. in the Graduate Center of that university.

The event, titled “Voto Latino 2024: how will Latino voting trends impact the elections?“, will address what are the truths and misconceptions about the Latino vote. The Center for Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies estimates that there will be more than 35 million Latino voters eligible to participate in 2024 and that more than 18 million across the United States will cast their votes in the presidential election.

It is expected, according to these studies, that the Latinos represent 12% of the national vote, a dramatic increase from 3.7% in 1992.

Juan Carlos López, presenter and chief correspondent of CNN in Spanish in Washington, he will moderate a panel where the significant impact and behavior of the Latino vote in these upcoming elections on November 5 of this year will be analyzed.

This panel will also feature the participation of Dr. Laird W. Bergad, distinguished professor of history at the CUNY Graduate Center, of Latin American and Latino studies at Lehman College and executive director of the Center for Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies; Boris Sánchez, co-anchor of CNN News Central; María Cardona, Democratic strategist for CNN and CNN en Español, and Rocío Vélez, Republican strategist for CNN en Español.
