José Ramírez on Canelo vs. Crawford: Any blow could knock him out

José Ramírez chose Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez as his favorite to win the possible fight against Terence Crawford at super middleweight because he believes that Any of his blows could knock out the American.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Ramírez explained that the jump from 154 to 168 pounds is very big and that is why he thinks that Crawford will not do well against Canelo Álvarez, although he recognizes his abilities.

“I’ve always respected Crawford. Crawford is one of the best, I like the way he handles himself, I like the way he fights. Unfortunately, there are weight classes for a reason, and I think Canelo is too strong, too big. That doesn’t take anything away from Crawford, just I feel like the jump from 154 to 168 is very big, and I don’t think Crawford will do that well.. “Canelo is clever, he has his little tricks, quick reactions, and he has punching power,” he said.

“Yes, Canelo could lose a round or two. But any punch Canelo throws could hurt Crawford and knock him out. But it’s because of the weight classes, I think Crawford has some good fights he can do at 154, like Vergil Ortiz. But I also respect that he wants to be great and be part of that big fight before he retires. So, My opinion is that Canelo would beat himbut I can’t criticize him for taking that fight,” he concluded.

If the duel takes place, many sports experts predict that Bud will be at a disadvantage due to weight and will not be able to defeat the Guadalajarawhile others believe that size would not be a problem because the American has the necessary skills to beat the 168-pound champion on his own turf.

Turki Alalshikh had been working on finalizing the fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford. The Arab authority He sent him an offer for the duel to take place in the United States at the end of the year or the beginning of 2025.

Although Canelo Álvarez denied having received the offer, his coach Eddy Reynoso confirmed that he did, but it was not what they are asking for, since they want $150 million dollars. For this reason, the Arab sheikh had ruled out this duel from happening and the man from Guadalajara made it clear to him that if they work together it will be their way.
