Authorities reported that A 23-year-old man has been charged with killing his grandmother with a hammer in New Hampshire.

The man He was detained without bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, the attorney general’s office said in a news release.

It was not immediately known if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf. No court documents have been filed in the case, according to The Associated Press.

The man’s 76-year-old grandmother was found dead in her Easton home on Saturday, the attorney general’s office said. The grandson was arrested that night on charges of second-degree murder.

An autopsy determined that the woman died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Easton is a town of about 300 people in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, near the Vermont state line.
