“It is already in a competitive league like the Dutch one. In that sense, all the best for him and I think he has the ability to do it.”added the former coach of the Catalan team, referring to the 23-year-old player who is expected to be out of action for several months due to an injury.

For his part, the former defender who also shone with the Barça team and with the Spanish National Team highlighted that “Chaquito” has the necessary experience to be able to perform in the Spanish tournament in which, according to several press reports, he aroused the interest of Atlético de Madrid.

“He is a player who has been at a good level for a few years now, who is doing very well and we will see how far he can go. “You have to give them confidence and not put more pressure on them than necessary”Puyol highlighted, making it clear that the constant criticism that the Mexican receives is not good for his game.

Before the start of this season Santiago Giménez was in the middle of an intense negotiation with the English Nottingham Forest that put several offers on the table to Feyenoord to acquire the services of the Mexican forward who in the end ended up choosing to stay at his club.

Despite the unfortunate muscle injury that the Aztec attacker recently suffered, he had scored four goals in seven games at the start of the season. However, he continued to be the target of questions about his performance with the Rotterdam team.

His absence could determine the relevance that Santiago Giménez has in Feyenoord, which is preparing to face a few games without its maximum offensive reference, who in the best of cases will be out of the fields for about three months.
