NEW YORK.- The mayor of New York, Eric Adams, surrendered to federal authorities and, after hearing the five charges he faces in the Southern District Court, pleaded “not guilty.”

Now, the mayor will face a trial at an undetermined date on charges of bribery and extortion in a data operation scheme dating back at least 10 years, according to prosecutors’ indictment revealed this Thursday.

A Politico report revealed that Governor Kathy Hochul’s legal team is analyzing options to remove elected officials in New York, following the indictment against Adams.

Although Hochul has not yet decided that he will seek to remove Adams, members of his team say they want him to have “all options” on the table.
