Lionel Messi lures compatriot Luca Langoni to MLS

The Argentine winger Luca Langoni, of the New England Revolution of the MLSsaid on Wednesday that the opportunity to play against Lionel Messi was one of the reasons that led him to sign for the American league.

“The truth is that I was very attracted to him. Playing against him. “I think it’s going to be something very nice,” said Langoni, who arrived in New England in August from Boca Juniors, in a press conference organized by the MLS.

The match in which The two Argentines will face each other in the last week of the regular season of the championship, specifically the October 19th at Chase Stadium.

The Buenos Aires native, who has scored two goals since his debut, acknowledged that his arrival in the United States also occurred because he was going through a bad moment at Boca and needed a change of scenery.

“I wasn’t having a good time at Boca and nothing, I felt it was time to take a step in my career. I thought about it a lot, but I’m here now and I’m happy,” he said.

Despite strengthening with Langoni, the New England Revolution are at the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference, six points away from the places with access to the final phase with only five games left to play.

Qualifying for the final phase is a difficult mission for Langoni and his teammates, but the Buenos Aires native assured that they are still working towards that goal.

“We always see a chance of qualifying and we are working towards that. We know that the results are not coming our way, but we are working very well this week, very hard, to face these last matches that remain.
