The Argentine pilot Franco Colapinto continues to demonstrate his worth, talent, level and projection that he could ever have in the world of Formula 1; behind the wheel of the Williams team’s car, he will have to face this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, at the Marina Bay circuit, with a car that does not have the new modifications in terms of suspension and front brakes that his teammate Alex Albon’s car has so far.

“I think I showed that, without an improved car, I was still able to fight “Go ahead,” Colapinto told the media present after qualifying, which included Motorsport.com.

“The team did an incredible job trying to get the update here. And Alex is the main driver. He is the one with experience and he has done the whole season. So he is always the one who will have the updates,” said the Argentine driver.

A job that requires a lot of perseverance and effort

Even without being able to count on the aforementioned updates in his carFranco Colapinto was once again very close to his teammate, both on Saturday in qualifying as well as in free practice in Singapore, continuing to show that what he has been doing since his debut in Formula 1 is no coincidence.

The Argentine driver managed to finish on Friday in Singapore four tenths behind Albon in the second practice, but on Saturday he did such a good job on the track that he placed only 0s040 when both were able to access the top 10 in FP3, in eighth and ninth position, respectively.

Then in qualifying, Colapinto finished Q1 in ninth place.two positions behind Albon, but just 0.025 seconds behind the Anglo-Thai, a difference that he could have closed much closer, just seven thousandths of a second when they were both 11th and 12th in Q2.

Calm and focused, without losing the north

Colapinto was quite in agreement that for now the updates of the car have been for Albon, as well as being able to show that he is happy and optimistic with the performance he has been having for the Williams team this season.

“The car looks great. And I think the new suspension added a step forward, which is very nice to see and very encouraging for the future when I also have it in the next couple of races, or in due course.”

“It was still a strong qualifying with what we had, we did a good job “I work hard and I feel like I didn’t maximise my lap, and that’s why I’m upset (about not making it into Q3). But it’s still good work,” Colapinto concluded.
