Twelve months and two weeks after the domestic violence incident that marked The end of Julio Urías as a Dodgers pitcher, the video has finally been released of the Mexican baseball player’s assault on his wife outside the LAFC stadium in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times obtained a copy of the video in the possession of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and recorded by a witness outside BMO Stadium following the soccer match between LAFC and Inter Miami on Sept. 3, 2023, which Urías attended as a fan.

Julio Urías did not pitch for the Dodgers again after that night and his contract with the team expired at the end of the season, making him a free agent. The pitcher has remained out of baseball and there has not yet been a disciplinary decision from MLB.

In the video you can see how Julio Urías throws a punch

In the video, Urías is seen walking behind his wife and then running to catch up with her before roughly grabbing her from behind. After a struggle and while another man who was with him tried to calm the baseball player, Urías is seen throwing a punch with his left hand.

Moments later, the enraged Urias, who was shouting very angrily, was taken away while his wife was comforted by another woman who was with her.

A witness told La Opinión days after the incident that Julio’s wife had become upset because the then Dodgers pitcher took too long to leave the stadium while she was waitingHe even stopped in front of the main entrance and gave money to a street vendor. That same witness revealed that she apparently kicked Urías before walking away.

Urias, 28, avoided felony charges following an investigation by authorities and pleaded no contest to one of five misdemeanor charges brought against him by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. The other four were dropped. On May 1, the Culiacan man was granted conditional release or summary probation for 36 months. This is conditional release for misdemeanor cases.

Urias was also ordered to complete 30 days of community service and a 52-week domestic violence counseling course. In addition, the pitcher was ordered to pay an unspecified fine to the domestic violence fund, is not allowed to possess any weapons, is not allowed to use force or violence and must pay restitution to the victim.
