The Kansas City Chiefs are suffering from a delicate loss after the injury of Isiah Pacheco, who suffered a fractured fibula. The team’s leading running back and also wide receiver suffered the injury this Sunday in the victory against the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to experts, Pacheco could miss up to eight weeks, which would mean he would be out for more than half the season, a vital piece for the two-time NFL champions.

The 25-year-old running back’s injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the game against Cincinnati. It was on a play in which Pacheco’s right foot became trapped between the turf and a defender, while his body dramatically bent backwards, causing him to no longer return to the field.

Isiah left the stadium on crutches and with an orthopedic boot protecting his injured limb. He was taken to the hospital where further tests determined that his fibula was fractured.

Kansas City has two wins on the season, although Patrick Mahomes’ team and Travis Kelce is hampered by injuries in just two weeks.

Who can replace Isiah Pacheco?

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the team’s other rider, has been sidelined with muscle problems. post-traumatic stress disorder which have led him to remain in the hospital for some periods, a problem that the player confessed last August, he began to suffer in 2018.

The options left to Chiefs coach Andy Reid says the ground offense is run by Carson Steele, 21-year-old rookie, new to the team and veteran Samaje Perine, who despite his seven years of experience in the league, has not had any influence in his time with the Commanders, Dolphins, Bengals and Broncos.

Pacheco and Edwards-Helaire are also out, with catcher Hollywood Brown suffering a dislocated shoulder in the preseason, requiring surgery that will keep him out of action for four to six weeks.
