Gabe Evans, the Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado who won his party’s primary in late July with 77.5% support, opposes abortion rights, a situation that could complicate his candidacy to represent the eighth district. where nearly 30% of voters are mostly Latinos in favor of women’s reproductive freedom.

With the race to achieve the citizen vote in full swing, The aspirations of the former police lieutenant and army captain of Mexican descent could be harmed due to his position on the issue of abortion.

Recently, An interview began to circulate where Timothy Gabriel “Gabe” Joseph Evans says he is against women having abortions, even if they have been victims of incest or rape.

“I am running for the legislature because I want to go to the state capital and give my opinion on the policies that are made in the state.

Unfortunately, one of the policies that was passed by the legislature and signed by the governor is the most pro-abortion law in the entire nation, HB22-1279.

It basically establishes abortion in the state of Colorado as a fundamental right and I find that ridiculous, Not only because I am pro-life, but because polls show that over 70% of Americans, including Democrats and people who identify as pro-choice, think there should be restrictions on abortion.

“Our outdated leftist legislature here in Colorado is just pushing further left and passing these radical policies that are out of touch with the people,” he said.

The 38-year-old Republican’s statements are completely opposite to the flexibility adopted by Donald Trump to achieve his return to the White House. and that could mean that many citizens would turn their backs on him and support the Democrat Yadira Caraveo.

It should be noted that In Colorado’s 8th Congressional District (CO-8th), the issue of abortion rights has become one of the central issues of the election.

In fact, A recent poll of Latino voters (including Catholics) found that three out of five Latino voters believe abortion should be legal. in almost all cases.
