Man kills grandmother by jumping off highway bridge in LA

A man who jumped off a bridge ended up not only killing himself but also taking the life of an innocent mother and grandmother, who had the misfortune of passing under a Los Angeles freeway bridge at that moment, from which he jumped.

The victim’s family needs your help to cover the unexpected expenses of giving her a proper burial. You can help them by donating to the GoFundMe page: Support for a loving mother’s farewell.

The tragedy occurred around 7 p.m. on August 9 when a man jumped from the Roxford Bridge of the 210 Freeway in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley, and fell on the vehicle in which the woman was traveling.

The victim is Margarita Novela Galindo, 59, who was traveling as a passenger in the car driven by her husband Florencio on the 210 highway when the suicide bomber crashed into the windshield. The couple was leaving the city to take advantage of the holiday when the accident surprised them.

Florencio did not suffer any injuries during the accident, and immediately called his son.

“Once he told me that ambulances were coming and that he couldn’t open the car doors, I knew it was serious,” said his son David Galindo, as published on the website of Eyewitness News from the ABC 7 television network.

Margarita was rushed to the hospital Providence Mission Hills where he remained several weeks in intensive care, but did not survive due to the severity of the injuries suffered.

Her husband, three children and grandchildren mourn her unexpected and tragic passing.

“What if they had stopped for gas? What if they had stopped for water? Maybe this wouldn’t have happened,” said his son David.

While her daughter Stephanie claimed that for just two minutes difference and two inches of distance, her mother would have been fine.

Despite the tragedy, Florencio feels compassion for the man who killed his partner.

“I don’t know what problems he had to commit suicide, but I don’t have any resentment toward him,” Florencio told ABC 7.

On the page of GoFundMe which has been opened to raise funds, her son David said the impact of the man’s fall on the vehicle was so severe that it fell on his mother and left her in critical condition.

“She fought bravely for her life for three weeks, but on August 28, doctors told us she would not recover. Tragically, my mother died, leaving behind my brother, sister, seven grandchildren and me.”

He adds that his father is now alone, without the love of his life.

“It is incredibly unfair that my mother’s life was taken because someone didn’t want hers.”

He describes his mother as a loving and caring woman.

“Our family is devastated and struggling to deal with this unimaginable loss. We have been by her side throughout this ordeal and are now asking for all the support we can to give her the farewell she deserves.”
