In a recent meeting with the media, Andrea Escalona made clear her position regarding the apologies offered by Mariana Echeverría, which, according to her, did not seem sincere.
The controversy arose from a controversial comment made by Echeverría on ‘La Casa de los Famosos México 2’ about his co-star Arath de la Torre, in which he insinuated that the actor did not get along with his colleagues on the Hoy program.
Mariana Echeverría had declared that “one of the Andreas” in Hoy could not stand Arath, which generated a wave of reactions on social media.
The Hoy hosts were forced to confront Echeverría on the set, defending Arath as a person much loved by all the members of the program.
During the confrontation on Hoy, Echeverría apologized, admitting that he had spoken “without proof” and clarifying that his comment about Andrea Escalona was based on a past perception.
However, these apologies were not well received by Escalona, who stressed the closeness he has with Arath de la Torre, describing him as a great friend and an important figure in his personal and professional life.
Escalona said she was surprised by the way Echeverría apologized. “I don’t know, I thought his response would be: ‘I got angry.
I didn’t want to give any names and I lied to get along.’ I thought that was where the apology would go, but it caught me off guard,” Escalona explained. When asked directly about the sincerity of the apology, Escalona did not hesitate to answer: “No, well, what’s up with the apology,” she said with a laugh. “I didn’t see it coming, but look, it’s his way of apologizing. It’s fine.”
Despite the controversy, Andrea Escalona reaffirmed her support for Arath de la Torre, praising his performance on the show and his ability to face the challenges of the game. “All of this, for me, my feeling is that I love Arath very much.
“It’s a game and he’s playing it like a king. I’m proud of him, of the moments he’s controlled himself and faced his demons, and he’s doing great,” Escalona concluded.
