Ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago A caravan of buses packed with immigrants sponsored by Texas Governor Greg Abbott is expected to arrive.

In fact, during an interview given to the newspaper Daily MailorA spokesman for the governor of Texas confirmed the dispatch of buses transporting immigrants to the “Windy City.”

“Until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border, Texas will continue to bus migrants to sanctuary cities across the country, like Chicago, to provide much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border cities,” he said.

Although Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a Democrat, had predicted the arrival of up to 25,000 undocumented foreigners, the estimate was lowered to 1,000.

“We certainly hope that Governor Abbott finds Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and (doesn’t) do that,” he said.

According to data collected by Chicago authorities, In less than two years, more than 46,500 immigrants have arrived in the sanctuary city.

Of that number, the Texas government is responsible for sponsoring the land transportation of nearly 31,000 immigrants without documentation proving their presence in the United States.

In this regard, Chicago authorities estimate that, Since August 2022, taxpayers have shelled out nearly $150 million in immigrant-related expenses.

However, at least 10,000 more migrants have been displaced free of charge from the southern border to other points such as Washington, New York and Denver.

Recently, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris would support comprehensive immigration reform which would legalize the stay of millions of foreigners who live and work illegally in the country.

“Yes, yes… she would support comprehensive immigration reform. I have spoken to her about the issue and even when I tried to push it (the reform) in the Senate a few years ago, when she was there, she joined in,” he stressed.
