After the capture of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and Joaquin Guzman Lopezvarious versions of what really happened emerged, and one of them involved the American pilot Larry Curtis Parker.

His name was revealed by the Secretary of Public Safety, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, who during a press conference identified him as the pilot who had transported both drug traffickers to US territory.

Days later, the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador acknowledged that there could be a mistake in the report that was previously submitted, in which the pilot was identified as being involved in the case.

“It seems that it was not him, this information was given because it was obtained from Immigration, which coincided mainly with the airport where these people arrived, but now we have more information,” said the president on August 6 without offering any apology.

That’s why Now it is Curtis who asks the Mexican president to clear his nameand he did so through a letter he sent to journalist Azucena Uresti for Radio Fórmula.

“My hope is that they will simply clear my name publicly and invite me back to their country with open arms,” he said.

Asked if he would ask his country’s authorities for help to clarify the incident, the pilot said that At the moment it will not proceed legallywell the first thing he hopes is for everything to be clarified publicly and to be able to return to Mexico.

“We all make mistakes in life, myself included, and I think it was an honest mistake on the part of the Mexican authorities and I hope they correct it,” he added.

Looking back on that day, Curtis described it as a normal day. “When I arrived, the airport authorities checked me in, gave me the flight plan and escorted me to the plane as usual. Nothing was different. I have done this many times.”

But after the Mexican authorities pointed out that he was the pilot of the plane in which both drug traffickers arrived in the United States, He saw the post on social media and thought it was a joke in which he was being framed.

“I searched online and found many stories about the arrest and many of them mentioned me as the pilot. I started receiving phone calls from my friends in Mexico,” he said.

Later, journalists sought him out to ask him about his involvement in the incident, and that is how he found out everything. “I assumed that the investigation would show that I had absolutely nothing to do with the incident,” he said.

Finally, he assured that, so far, he has not spoken with any Mexican authority and during this time His involvement in what happened has not been denied.which is why the businessman makes this request to Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
