Technical director Eduardo Coudet is the main option that the board of directors of the Rayados de Monterrey has to find to the relief of the also Argentine Fernando Ortiz, who was fired after the Monterrey team failed to transcend in the Leagues Cup and where the board of La Pandilla has set its sights on several coaches from the Southern Cone such as the Argentines Hernan Crespo, Santiago Solari and Jorge Sampaoli.

The above has come to light in newspaper reports that claim that Coudet made a very good impression in the interviews. which was carried out in Argentina by the sports director of the team from northern Mexico, José Antonio Noriega.

These versions claim that Coudet was the one who presented the best project, although no one can rule out Hernán Crespo, former World Cup player for Argentina in the 1998 World Cups in France, 2002 in Korea and Japan, and 2006 in Germany. and neither to Jorge Sampaoli, who managed Chile, Argentina and Sevilla in Spain, among other teams.

Meanwhile, Santiago Solari, after managing América, would also be back in Liga MX in case the Rayados de Monterrey are encouraged to hire the former Real Madrid playeralthough the option seems very vague, especially due to Solari’s international commitments

For now, Rayados de Monterrey are working under the orders of Nicolás Sánchez and Hugo Castillo, both institutional elements, after the dismissal of Fernando Ortiz last Tuesday, following the early elimination in the Leagues Cup and who expect the board to announce their next coach in the next few hours.

Who is ‘Chacho’ Coudet?

Coudet, a 49-year-old Argentine coach, has already had a long career at international level with different clubs, and has even managed in Mexico. ‘Chacho’ had a period of just six months in charge of Xolos de Tijuana, in 2017. where he did not do well at all in the 20 games he managed, with only six victories, both in the Apertura 2017 tournament and in the Copa MX.

Coudet then managed Rosario Central, Racing, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro. He had a stint in Europe, Specifically at Celta de Vigo, without much exposurewhich is why he is currently unemployed and open to listening to offers.

So it will be in the next few hours when Monterrey chooses the new coach, especially because the board wants a candidate who will generate impact. in public opinion, but also have the professional arguments to be able to obtain results.

The truth is that Coudet and Solari have greater freedom of movement due to their knowledge of Mexican football, But no one can ignore Jorge Sampaoli’s career and resume.
