Mexican boxer Marco Verde won the silver medal in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after losing this Friday in the final of the 71-kilogram category against Uzbek Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev, thus giving the Aztec delegation its fifth medal at this Olympic event.

The fight, which took place at the Olympic facilities located on the Philippe Chatrier court of the Roland Garros Stadium, ended in favor of the Uzbek by unanimous decision over the 22-year-old Mexican, who was clearly outclassed by his opponent.

The Mazatlán native was far from his level with which he qualified for the final in this Olympic event, where he achieved victories against Tiago Muxanga (Mozambique), Nishant Dev (India) and Lewis Richardson (Great Britain), whom he beat in the semi-finals to secure a ticket to the decisive stage.
