One of the states preferred by Mexicans to start a new life is Querétaro, its proximity to Mexico City and the tranquility that existed made it a dream destination, but organized crime is tarnishing that and Drug wars have become presentwith them horror, like the abandonment of a human head.
It was in the municipality of San Juan del Río where the inhabitants made the terrible discovery, next to a road, The head was burned and had visible marks of torture.next to it there was a narco message addressed to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), according to the newspaper El Sol de México.
In addition to the horror of finding human remains in terrible conditions, the cardboard left at the scene announced the preamble to something equally horrible: a clean-up of the city.
“The clean-up of the Jalisco people has begun, we will not allow our beautiful town to be filled with scum” was read on the message signed by “Command X”.
Elements of the State Police and the Mexican Army arrived at the scene of the discovery, who guarded the perimeter while awaiting agents from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Querétaro, whose Criminal Investigation Police carried out the first investigations.
Response from the authorities
Angel Rangel Nieves, Secretary of Security of Querétaro, spoke out about the incident that terrified the inhabitants. After confirming it and saying that it had been dealt with, he pointed out that the criminal groups involved operate in the state of Hidalgo, dedicating themselves to the theft of hydrocarbons, in a reassuring tone for the population.
But the weekly Proceso reports that this is not an isolated incident and that San Juan del Río has been under dispute by organized crime for monthssince last January the remains of nine people were found tied up and gagged, and newspaper reports even indicated that all of them had gunshot wounds.
At that time, it was also said that it was a problem that arose in Hidalgo and derived from the theft of hydrocarbons, since the truck with license plates of the entity in question was abandoned near a pipeline of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).
Violence also reached the state capital, as several homicides occurred in 2023, including those of Two people who were decapitated and their limbs abandoned in ice chests.
And although the authorities do not recognize it, organized crime is present in the state. According to reports from AC Consultores, three criminal groups operate in San Juan del Río: the CJNG, the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL) and Los Hades.
