'Checo' Pérez was blunt after failure in the Belgian GP: “I will not talk more about the future”

The Mexican pilot Sergio Perez, seventh in the Belgian Grand Prix after George Russell’s disqualification, The race winner said after the race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, when questioned about his future in the Formula 1 World Championship, that he would not answer “any more questions about the future”.

“I think we have a lot to do as a team, many things we need to focus on, and We can’t waste energy with all those rumors.“, said ‘Checo’ Pérez about his future in statements reported by ‘Motorsport’.

“This is the last time I will talk about the future, just to make it clear to everyone. I will not speak any more, I will not answer any more questions about the future”said the Mexican pilot, annoyed.

Pérez believes that “it is a good moment for the team” and for himself, although he says: “I think we have a lot to do and we will see what we can achieve. I hope to do it again.”

The Mexican pilot understands that This Sunday’s race “was a very disappointing one.” “It started, as I would say, with a lot of difficulty ahead, I don’t know what was happening, but tI had to manage the battery before the first laps, and everything was very tight ahead,” he said.

“Once I got the battery recharged a bit, I was pretty even with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, I was there, but then, with all the traffic, it became very difficult, very complicated,” he explained.

“There are many things we have to analyze, but I think that Mercedes’ pace was very impressive and we couldn’t compete against Ferrari, So there are a lot of things we need to understand,” he said.
