In the violent events, a police officer lost his life and another was seriously injured.according to the latest reports from the security authorities in this entity, which in the last six years is considered one of the areas of greatest risk and insecurity in Mexico, which is why Concacaf’s decision to have scheduled the activity of the group comprising Cuba, the United States, Costa Rica and Jamaica, It was clearly a serious threat to the security of the contending countries.

Without a doubt, the Concacaf authorities went further and it seems that they acted with naivety or ignorance of the climate of insecurity that reigns in the state of Guanajuato and if the FMF suggested to them scheduling this qualifying competition for the Under 20 category, without a doubt the shot backfired.

For that reason, Concacaf leaders withdrew This Wednesday the headquarters to the city of Celaya of the U-20 Pre-World Cup that is taking place in our country, so the games will continue in Irapuato and León, the latter coming in as a substitute.

“After a security incident outside from a team hotel in Celaya, and with great caution and to ensure the best possible experience For all participants, Concacaf, in coordination with the FMF, has decided to move the remainder of the tournament to the cities of Irapuato (Sergio León Chávez Stadium) and León (León Stadium).

It should be noted that initially, the U20 Pre-World Cup was being played in Irapuato and Celaya, with greater activity in the strawberry capital, with eight of the 12 participating teams, such as: Honduras, Canada, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Haiti and Guatemala.

While the representatives that were in the city of Celaya were: United States, Cuba, Costa Rica and Jamaica, but now they will have to change their headquarters to the city of León and Irapuato, respectively, to continue with the normal development of this Concacaf competition which has been marred by bloody acts against law enforcement.

Obviously, the loss of human lives just a few meters from the participating teams, such as the Cuban team, was the wake-up call to modify the format of this competition and reinforce the security of the other teams, although in this case, the power and capacity of crime showed that it is above of state security, as the criminals did not hesitate to take the lives of police officers in broad daylight.
