Tom Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during the Donald Trump administration, had a star slot in the ‘last session of the Republican National Convention, and He promised to deport those who are in the United States without authorization.
Homan was the architect who implemented Trump’s cruel policy of separating immigrant families at the border, which snatched thousands of immigrant children from the arms of their parents.
Former President Trump has said he would appoint Homan, who played a role in the controversial Trump-era family separation policy, to serve again in ICEif he is re-elected in the 2024 elections.
Homan, during a fiery speech Wednesday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, criticized the Biden administration for a record number of border crossings in recent years.
“This is not mismanagement, this is not incompetence, this is intentional, this is a choice,” Homan said.
Homan He promised to deport people who are in the country without authorization. and warned that Trump would designate Mexican cartels as a “terrorist organization” for their role in smuggling fentanyl across the border. And he warned that if Trump wins the 2024 election, would wipe the Mexican cartels “off the face of the earth.”

- Trump says he has “no idea who is behind Project 2025, but in the last two weeks Trump has claimed: “We are going to bring back Tom Homan. We are going to bring back all the guys who did great work on the border” and “I have Tom Homan lined up” for a second administration.
- As former ICE director under Trump, Homan was “the father” of Trump’s cruel family separation policy and proudly focused on “illegal alien children.”
- Asked about his practice of “caging children,” Homan claimed that it “worked” and suggested that the real separators of children are women who have abortions.
- Homan eventually “got sick and tired of hearing about family separation,” but is so committed to separating more families that he publicly proclaimed, “I couldn’t care less, could I? The bottom line is we enforced the law.”
Biden-Harris 2024 campaign Hispanic Media Director Maca Casado issued a statement Wednesday, saying, “Nothing says American unity or values more than putting the architect of family separation, Tom Homan, in prime time during the Republican National Convention.”
“Americans will never be free from the cruel and unforgivable images of mothers having their children taken away from them and who is to blame: Donald Trump,” Casado said.
“Tonight, Donald Trump will shine a light on his cruel legacy of family separation and remind Americans that, given the chance, he will go even further, using the National Guard to round up and deport immigrants, build mass detention camps, and reinstate his cruel and un-American Muslim ban. And all of that barely scratches the surface of what’s to come if Trump gets another chance to partner with Tom Homan.”
“Neither Trump nor Tom Homan cares a fig about fixing the immigration system that Trump himself destroyed, because Trump believes it is good politics to harm the most vulnerable,” Casado said.
