'Checo' Pérez denies that his contract has performance clauses that could keep him out of Red Bull

And in recent days there has been much speculation that The Mexican driver could leave his team this same year if he does not meet certain objectives, supposedly, because this is in his contract.

Among the alleged clauses that circulated are that eThe Aztec would leave if he is not less than 100 points behind Max Verstappen at the end of the Belgian Grand Prixa (currently at 137) or if he moves 5 positions away from the Dutchman (currently five positions behind him).

However“Checo” destroyed these versionssaid he could not give details of the contract he signed until 2026, but denied that it had clauses or anything similar.

“There is nothing related to that. Obviously, I can’t talk about my contract, but there’s nothing related to that (the clauses). “What I have said is that the next two races are very important for me. I want to go into the holiday in a good spirit and I think it is good for the team in my garage to go into the holiday in a high spirit,” Perez said in an interview with Motorsport.

The Guadalajara-born rider said that for now he is focused on getting back into the swing of things and doing well in the two races remaining before the summer break: this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix and the Belgian GP on July 28, before a one-month break and returning to action on August 25 at the Dutch GP.

The last time Sergio Pérez stood on the podium was on April 21 at the Chinese Grand Prix, When he finished third, that was the beginning of the Mexican’s downfall, finishing 4th, 8th, 18th, 18th, 8th, 7th and 17th in the Grand Prix of Miami, Emilia-Romagna, Monaco, Canada, Spain, Austria and Great Britain, respectively.
