The Republican Senator JD Vance (Ohio) delivers acceptance speech for vice presidential nomination tonightafter former President Donald Trump chose him as his running mate.

Vance is one of the new stars of the Republican Party, who rose to fame with his book Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis (which in Spanish was titled Hillbilly Elegy: Memoirs of a Family and a Culture in Crisis), where Vance tells the story of the Appalachian region of Ohio.

Vance is expected to focus on his personal story in his first speech before Republican delegates, but could also address aspects of former President Trump’s Agenda 47, to which he is adhering.

Vance has very similar positions to Trump on immigration, abortion, the economy, national security and guns although in the past he compared the former president to Hitler.

The senator will be the last of more than two dozen speakers at the RNC, following a speech by his wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, whom Sen. JD Vance describes as “incredibly brilliant.”

Vance’s speech will be held at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

In addition to Vance, Rep. Matt Gaetz (Fla.) is among the speakers, as is Peter Navarro, former director of the White House Office of Trade and Treaties.

Also present will be Representative Monica De La Cruz (Texas); Thomas Homan, former acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).

One of the most anticipated speakers is Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has been a staunch supporter of former President Trump and an ally in speeches on immigration and the border.

Also in attendance will be Kellyanne Conway, former adviser to former President Trump, and the former president’s son, Donald Trump Jr.

A pending debate

Vice President Kamala Harris had announced a debate with the Republican vice presidential candidatebut Vance has not agreed to the terms, according to the Democratic campaign.

Harris and Vance have spoken by phone, but have not reached an agreement on a debate, although on May 16, the vice president accepted CBS’s invitation to participate in a debate, either on July 23 or August 13, although there is another tentative date, August 12.

Vice President Harris has said Sen. JD Vance will give a “stamp of approval” to anything Trump pushes and his agenda, which she called extremist.

Among other things, Harris criticizes Vance for expressing his refusal to certify the results of the 2020 election, as well as supporting a national abortion ban and voting against in vitro fertilization protections.
