Mexican soccer is back in action with the Apertura 2024. Among the tournament leaders are: Xolos from Tijuanaa club that was not accustomed to joys, but with the help of Juan Carlos Osorio has started on the right foot.
Miguel Herrera was the last coach to sit on the bench of the Xolos before the arrival of the Colombian. However, “Piojo” was unable to get the Tijuana team out of the last positions.
For several seasons, Herrera tried to put together a competitive team, but was unsuccessful in that mission. In the first days of the Apertura 2024, Juan Carlos Osorio seems to have found the formula.
A motivating start
The Xolos of Tijuana opened the competition with a direct duel. The Pack faced the Gallos Blancos of Querétaroa club that is also used to being at the bottom of the table.
But the Xolos de Tijuana managed to win as visitors. The La Corregidora Stadium witnessed the visitors’ victory by 1-2 with goals from Carlos González Espínola and Domingo Felipe Blanco.
The next match was a difficult commitment against Chivas de Guadalajara. The team led by Juan Carlos Osorio made the Estadio Caliente respected by achieving a 4-2 victory. Domingo Felipe Blanco scored again alongside Chistian Rivera and José Zúñiga on two occasions.
Now, Juan Carlos Osorio and his team must confirm this good start that keeps them in second place in Liga MX. The next match will be this Tuesday, July 15 against Cruz Azul at the Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium. Curiously, La Máquina and Xolos are the only two teams that have won their first two games of the season.
