The FBI has identified the shooter as A white man from Pennsylvania, who goes by the name of Thomas Mathiew Crooks.
Until now it was known that he was a white man in his 20s from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, the same state where the rally where Trump was attacked was being held.
The FBI had asked for the public’s help and had opened a special line for anyone who could provide any leads.
However, It is currently unknown what their motivations may be. and whether he was what is known as a ‘lone wolf’ or had an accomplice.
CNN specifies that when the agents reached the sniper, He was lying on the roof where he had fired the shots.was not carrying any documents, which made his identification difficult for hours.
Images could be seen of the officers arriving at the roof where the sniper was, who was dressed in grey camouflage clothing.
Pittsburgh local media WTAE claims The shooter used an AR-15 type rifle and fired eight shots before being shot dead by Secret Service agents.
Authorities have confirmed that the deceased attacker killed one rally attendee, wounded Trump in the right ear and left two other people in the audience seriously injured.
