Man sentenced to life in England for stalking and planning to kill TV presenter

A television presenter with a brilliant career in London was the insane desire of a man who stalked her, and his obsession reached such a degree that He planned to kidnap, rape and kill her.but an undercover detective discovered the plans, managed to have him arrested and the subject was recently sentenced to life in prison.

Gavin Plumbwho is now 37 years old, was part of an internet group called “Abducted Lovers,” which was infiltrated by a US police officer from Minnesota, who discovered their macabre plans and was instrumental in arresting the man, according to AFP.

Plumb posted a series of messages detailing his plan to kidnap, rape and murder the television presenter. Holly Willoughbywho has been on the show for 14 years, including hosting shows such as ITV’s “This Morning” and “Dancing on Ice.”

While several disturbing messages can be seen in these types of groups, for the undercover agent, those of the stalker who worked as a security guard were really worrying, so decided to report it to the FBI.

American authorities informed British police about the case, who arrested the man on October 4. What they found in his apartment in Harlow was decisive, as had a “kidnapping kit” consisting of chloroform bottles, metal straps and other items.

Sentence

After the arrest and search of his apartment, police described his plan as “carefully planned,” and said he purchased ropes and restraints, investigated the presenter’s habits, and also He tried to recruit people to help him.

The man and his defense argued that the messages were simple fantasies, but the prosecution said that He participated in more than 1,000 messages with other users onlinewhere he openly discussed his fantasies and plans to attack Willoughby, The Independent reported.

As if that were not enough, the jury heard that this was not the first time that Gavin Plumb had harassed and attempted to attack women. He did so with two flight attendants and two 16-year-old teenagers, which made him a real danger to society.

The court heard all the arguments, ultimately giving more weight to the evidence than to the arguments that it was fantasy. A jury found him guilty in early July of conspiracy to kidnap, rape and murder.

The judge described Plumb’s plans as “particularly sadistic, violent and degrading”for which he sentenced him to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 15 years.

The victims

Willoughby waived her right to anonymity, which is permitted by British courts in such cases, but did not attend the trial. She left “This Morning” just after being informed of Plumb’s arrest. She also thanked the undercover agent for his intervention in preventing a possible femicide.

But there are other unknown victims, one of whom was interviewed by the BBC under the pseudonym Maria. She was the first flight attendant to be a victim of the serial stalkerwho approached her one morning as she was on her way to work and sat in a half-empty carriage to get ready.

She commented that it seemed strange to her that with so many seats available the man sat in front of her, but she continued getting ready, until the man passed her a piece of paper, which she ignored, but Plumb was willing to make himself heard.

He gave him the writing again, in it He said that she should get off the train with him, and that she should not scream so that no one would get hurt. She saw him and thought he was huge and had no chance, plus she saw he had ropes and a replica gun.

Desperate, she looked for help with her eyes, and she was able to see another passenger who saw fear in Maria’s eyes. The other woman looked for another man who was traveling on the train and together they approached him, causing Plumb to flee.
