President Joe Biden vowed to continue his re-election campaign in this electionduring a high-stakes solo news conference Thursday night, where he dismissed concerns about his health and said he would “keep moving” despite Democrats calling for him to consider dropping out of the race.

President Joe Biden addressed major concerns about his age and his reelection campaign in his first news conference since a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump two weeks ago and stressed that he remains the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election.

Biden repeatedly reiterated that he is committed to staying in the upcoming race, but acknowledged that he needs to make his case to detractors and American voters concerned about his fitness for office following his poor performance in the debate.

“I’m determined to run, but I think it’s important to allay fears by letting people see me,” Biden said.

He cited his robust travel schedule in the days after the debate, noting “over 20 major events, from Wisconsin and North Carolina,” and stressed that he is “going to areas where we can persuade people to move in our direction or where there are already people there.”

“I’m going to be defending the things that I think we need to finish and how we can’t afford to lose what we’ve done,” he said, citing the efforts made by his administration over the years.
