A wildfire that spread across more than 16,000 acres over the weekend prompted evacuations and threatens to seize several properties, including Neverland Ranch, once owned by singer Michael Jacksonin Santa Barbara County, authorities reported.
Fire threatens Michael Jackson’s famous home in Santa Barbara
Firefighting teams have faced difficulty in fighting the flames of the so-called Lake Firewhich erupted amid an extreme heat wave sweeping Southern California.
As of Sunday afternoon, the Lake Fire, burning in Santa Barbara County near the Los Padres National Forest, had burned 16,452 acres and was 8% containedaccording to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (Cal Fire).

The Lake Fire It is one of 21 wildfires currently burning in California.Cal Fire said.
Lake Fire It is located about 40 miles north of the city of Santa Barbara. and erupted on the afternoon of Friday, July 5, in the area near Zaca Lake, in the Los Padres National Forest.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders on Saturday night when the fire had reached 13,264 acres.

Evacuation orders included the 5000 block of Figueroa Mountain Road, right where the old Neverland Ranch is locatedwhich was owned by Michael Jackson, authorities said.
Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009 at his residence on North Carolwood Drive.in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Bel-Air, Los Angeles.
At the moment, The Santa Barbara property is named Sycamore Valley Ranchand is owned by millionaire Ronald Burkle.
Also Warnings have been issued for residents in the surrounding area were prepared to evacuate, according to the sheriff’s office.

The fire started in the middle of an extreme heat wave affecting this area of Santa Barbara County, as well as much of Southern California.
“An EXCESSIVE HEAT ADVISORY for the next week continues to impact the fire with high temperatures, dry vegetation and little relief at night. The National Weather Service has reported that A heat wave this intense and prolonged has not been experienced in this region in 20 years.“Cal Fire said in a statement.

The Lake Fire flames grew rapidly on Saturday amid temperatures above 90 degrees and relative humidity of around 11%.
“When relative humidity decreases, Fire behavior increases because fine fuels, such as grass and pine needles, dry out quickly,” the Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA) said.
Investigation to determine the cause of the forest fire remains ongoing by the authorities.
