During the first interview he has given since his troubled participation in the presidential debate, Joe Biden has declined to answer whether he would be willing to undergo a neurological test to confirm his level of mental acuity.

The 81-year-old Democrat spoke with George Stephanopoulos, a television host ABC, But far from doing so for 90 minutes, as was assumed, the meeting was limited to 22 minutes, a period during which he tried to avoid a question considered key to measuring his cognitive strength.

His interlocutor first questioned him about whether the doctors in charge of his health had performed a complete neurological and cognitive evaluation.

“I have a complete neurological exam every day. I have had a complete physical exam… I’ve been to Walter Reed for my physicals,” the president responded.

Then, The presenter insisted on asking the president to clarify whether a neurologist had examined him with the help of specific cognitive tests.

“No, nobody told me I had to do it… They said I was fine,” the long-serving politician indicated.

About, Stephanopoulos was direct and asked Biden if he would be willing to undergo a cognitive or neurological test, but the head of the nation, although he issued a response, it was only to get out of the way, since at no time did he accept the option..

“Look, I take a cognitive test every day. I take that test every day. In everything I do. You know, I’m not just campaigning, I’m running the world. It sounds like hyperbole, but we are the central nation of the world,” he stressed.

Months before the presidential debate Donald Trump had challenged Joe Biden to undergo a cognitive test, but The White House rejected the option, considering it unnecessary and even defining it as an absurd whim to which they would not agree.

Today, several Democratic Party legislators are not even mentioning any kind of test for the president, instead they are asking him to put an end to a campaign that they believe he would end up losing if no one steps in like a firefighter to rescue it.
