“El Salomón”, leader of the Aragua Train in Colombia, is caught

A hard blow was dealt against the terrible transnational criminal organization Aragua Trainbecause on the morning of June 27, one of its main leaders, identified as “The Solomon”who operated in Bogotá, Colombia, was arrested in the municipality of Aguazul.

According to the official report of the case, it is Solomon Fernandez Torreswho last May managed to evade a raid by the Public Force against that gang in Bogotá, in which 27 members were arrested.

Apparently, the detainee was sent to Colombia by the top boss of that criminal organization, the fugitive known as “Warrior Child”to lead this criminal group in Bogotá and Soacha, responsible for drug trafficking, homicides, extortion, kidnappings and forced disappearances, according to a statement issued by the Colombian government.

According to the newspaper El Espectador, the criminal operation gave “El Salomón” profits ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 million Colombian pesos per month.

His modus operandi in Bogotá regarding the collection of extortion fees consisted of order his subordinates to shoot and throw explosive devices against establishments, as well as attacking the integrity of their owners.

During the investigations carried out against him it has been proven that participated in at least five homicides occurred between April and June 2014.

In addition to “El Salomón”, other important leaders have been arrested in Colombia, such as Yonayke Martínez Carrión, alias “El Barbero”, on June 19 in Boyacá; and Carlos Ramón Escobar García “Escobar”, in Bogotá, on May 2.

The Tren de Aragua is a transnational criminal gang that originated in a Venezuelan prison and in recent years has managed to make its way to the south and north of the American continent.
