Amid the whirlwind of sexual abuse accusations, Sean Diddy Combs surprised with an unexpected action: he deleted all the posts from his Instagram account.

This week, The rapper decided to delete all posts from his Instagram account, including the apology video after the leak of a 2016 video in which he is seen hitting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

In the video Diddy apologizes for his actions, which he himself described as “unforgivable.”although he did not mention Cassi Ventura.

“My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. Disgusted. I was disgusting then and I’m disgusted now. I went and sought professional help. I started going to therapy, to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. Very sorry. But I am committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. “I’m so sorry,” the rapper said at the time.

Diddy’s decision to delete his posts also comes after he had to return the keys to New York after the city’s mayor, Eric Adams, asked him to hand them over in response to the video in which the rapper is seen physically attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

According to the Associated Press, The rapper handed over the keys to New York after Adams sent a letter to the musician’s offices in New York and California to ask to return the keys to the City Council.

“I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender violence,” said the mayor of the Big Apple in his letter in reference to the video of Diddy attacking Cassie, according to the Associated Press.

Last year, Eric Adams awarded the keys to New York to Diddy in a ceremony which coincided with the release of his new album The Love Album: Off the Grid.

The return of the keys to New York occurs a week after Howard University revoked the honorary degree that was awarded to the rapper in 2014.

“The Board of Trustees of Howard University voted today unanimously to accept the return by Mr. Sean Combs of the honorary degree conferred on him in 2014,” states the statement published by the university.

He will not face charges for the video

Shortly after the publication of the video with the surveillance images of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, George Gascón, Los Angeles District Attorney, reported that, although the images are disturbing, they cannot file charges because the crime has already expired.

“We are aware of the video that has been circulating online that allegedly shows Sean Combs assaulting a young woman in Los Angeles. “We found the images extremely disturbing and difficult to view,” the prosecutor said, according to deadline.

“If the conduct described occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would not be able to press charges because the conduct occurred beyond the time frame in which an assault offense can be prosecuted,” he added.

In California the statute of limitations for domestic violence is five yearswhile the statute of limitations for simple and serious assault is one year and three years respectively.
