Volkswagen Tiguan 2024: more space, technology and ecological options

He Volkswagen Tiguan has been a fundamental pillar in the German brand’s SUV offering since its debut in 2007.

More than 7.6 million units sold globally and being Volkswagen’s best-selling model since 2017the Tiguan is renewed with its third generation, offering significant improvements in design, technology and sustainability.

The new Tiguan presents a redesign that reflects Volkswagen’s aesthetic evolution, aligning itself with the modern ID family.

Its exterior, more stylized and robust, stands out for a higher hood and a front that integrates IQ LED headlights. Light HD Matrix with up to 19,200 pixels per headlight, technology inherited from the Touareg.

A glass crossbar with an optional LED trim replaces the traditional radiator grille, adding a contemporary and elegant touch to the vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, the Tiguan grows slightly to offer more interior space.

With an additional 30 mm in length, it reaches 4,539 mmwhile its height and width remain almost unchanged, resulting in a perfect balance between size and maneuverability.

The trunk has also been optimized, increasing its capacity in 37 liters for a total of 652 liters in the eTSI, TSI and TDI versions.

In addition, the rear seat can be moved longitudinally and adjusted in inclination, improving the versatility of the cargo space.

The interior of the Tiguan has been completely renovated, focusing on the integration of the latest infotainment technology.

The new MIB4 modular system includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.9-inch central screen, expandable to 15 inches in the R-Line version. The innovative Windshield Head-up Display Projects information directly onto the windshield, providing a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

Volkswagen also introduces the system Volkswagen Driving Experience Controla multifunctional control that allows the driver to select the driving profile, adjust the interior ambient lighting and control the audio volume.

The center console has been redesigned to offer more storage space, moving the gear lever to the steering columnsimilar to the Passat and the ID.7.

As to enginesthe new Tiguan adapts to sustainability demands with two 48 V micro-hybrid versions and two plug-in hybrid versions.

The 1.5 eTSI microhybrids offer 130 and 150 HP, while the plug-in ones combine a 1.5 TSI engine with powers of 204 and 272 HPachieving an electric range of up to 118 km thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery.

Diesel options are also maintained with two 2.0-liter TDI versions, offering 150 and 193 HP, the latter with 4Motion all-wheel drive. Soon, a 204 HP 2.0 TSI engine will also be added with 4Motion traction.

The Volkswagen Tiguan 2024 demonstrates that it is possible to combine tradition and modernity, offering an SUV that not only responds to the current needs of consumers, but also looks to the future with sustainable options and advanced technology.

With its refined design, greater interior space and a wide range of engines, the new Tiguan is positioned as a leading option in the competitive SUV segment.
