Karol G is back with a new song, after her song ‘Contigo’, the Colombian decided to venture into merengue and released ‘If I had known you before’, this June 20.
According to a publication on his Instagram account, the song was recorded in the Dominican Republic and so was the music video.
With this new piece of music, Karol G vindicates his desire to continue being a reference in Latin urban music.
The song talks about a person who wants to be with another, but can’t because they are in a relationship. In the lyrics, the artist wonders what would have happened if they knew each other before, maybe they could be together.
On social networks, some Internet users claim that some verses are dedicated to the artist’s current boyfriend, Feid. Especially when she pronounces “I’m marrying you, my name sounds good with your last name.”
The music video has a Caribbean essence and is presumed to have been recorded in the town of San Pedro de Macorís in the Dominican Republic.
In fact, it starts with a woman singing and then they call Karol G on stage. At that moment, she starts singing the song and everyone starts dancing.
In addition to the romantic rhymes, its fans assure that it is the ideal song to start the summer:

Karol G and her ‘Tomorrow will be a nice tour’
‘If I Had Met You Before’, arrives in the middle of his world tour. Right now, the star is in Europe carrying his best songs.
‘Tomorrow will be beautiful’ became one of the most important albums on the Latin American scene. It allowed Karol G to rise to the top 10 of the most listened to singers on Spotify and also won a Grammy for ‘Best Urban Album’.
There are even strong rumors that he could be the confirmed star for the 2025 Super Bowl.
In a recent interview with Vogue Spain, she confessed that she is experiencing all the success “being herself” and that she wants it to continue being that way.
